IDOLS Entertainment is looking for a talented Character Artist to join our team on Project Shadowstone, an atmospheric survival horror game set in the eerie depths of a 1970s mining town. We’re seeking an artist who can create lifelike, detailed characters that enhance the horror atmosphere and immerse players in a world of suspense and mystery.
Responsibilities:
Design and create high-quality 3D character models, including texturing, sculpting, and detailing, for human characters and supernatural creatures.
Collaborate with concept artists, animators, and riggers to ensure characters meet artistic and technical standards.
Optimize character assets for performance in Unreal Engine, maintaining a balance between visual fidelity and in-game efficiency.
Work closely with the art team to maintain consistency in style, texture, and realism, enhancing the game’s overall look and feel.
Continuously iterate on character assets based on feedback, ensuring high standards and a cohesive aesthetic.
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience in character modeling for games, with a strong portfolio showcasing realistic character and creature designs.
Proficiency in 3D modeling and texturing software such as Maya, ZBrush, Substance Painter, and Photoshop.
Strong understanding of anatomy, facial structure, and texture for creating lifelike and immersive characters.
A keen eye for detail and aesthetics, with the ability to produce characters that enhance the horror experience.
Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to receive and implement feedback constructively.
Bonus Skills:
Experience with rigging and skinning characters.
Familiarity with Unreal Engine and optimization techniques for game-ready assets.
Knowledge of procedural texturing and shading.
